In my article titled – The Consuming Man, I alluded how man was built by God to live and die by the things he consumes. It was made very clear in that article that we were not made to worry or struggle with what to consume or with how to consume, since we inherently consumes.
Among other things, I have realized that three oldest needs of man, the three things every man desires to consume daily. If you open your Bible to Genesis and you continue to Revelations, you would see how the decisions and choices of many people were influenced by their need for water, food and power. Perhaps you're thinking, isn't water part of food? I have come to realize that water is as different from food as being thirsty is different from being hungry. To a thirsty man, food isn't an answer; and to an hungry man, water isn't a solution. God made man to need both water and food. In fact, before man was formed from the dust of the ground, before God had released His Spirit into the formed body, I discovered that God created both water and food. If you study the book of Genesis 2:4-17, you will notice that God ensured that there was ample supply of water in the garden He wanted Adam to settle in. And He made provisions for both plants and animals, which He designated as food for man.
As soon as God was done with making water and food available for man, guess what God made available for man next? Power! He decided to empower man by making him in His own image, after His own likeness. Therefore, by design, man was made a powerful being, whose source of power was, is and would always be God. Unlike water and food that comes from the earth, the power of man came from God; hence, man needed to God to have his needed power released into him.
However, because of the fall of man in Adam, the power source was disconnected, and in desperation for survival, man sought for power in lucifer, the fallen angel of God. Since then, there has been a tendency in man to fill his inner void for power with whatever the devil supplies to him. Do you think such power from hell (lucifer) is sustainable and dependable?
Again, the devil too Him up on an exceedingly high mountain, and showed Him all the kingdoms of the world and their glory. And he said to Him, "All these things I will give You if You will fall down and worship me." Then Jesus said to him, "Away with you, Satan! For it is written, You shall worship the LORD your God and Him only you shall serve." Then the devil left Him, and behold, Angels came and ministered to Him."
Matthew 4:8-11
Did you see that? The devil told Jesus to bow to him, if He wanted him to give the kingdoms of this world and their glory to Him. What the devil didn't know was that God had purposed to restore the lost power back to the children of men that the devil deceived at the beginning in Eden. In the plan of God, Jesus was expected to die, go to the place where the devil hides in the deep parts of the earth and recover what the devil stole from Adam – the very thing he was dangling at Jesus on that mountain.
No wonder the Bible says,
Having wiped out the handwriting of requirements that was against us, which was contrary to us. And He has taken it out of the way, having nailed it to the cross.
Having disarmed principalities and powers, He made a public spectacle of them, triumphing over them in it.
Colossians 2:14-15
That is why when Jesus rose from the grave, He said, "All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth." Before He came to the earth, as God, He had authority in heaven, the authority of the earth was given to man by God in the beginning, which the devil was possessing because he deceived Adam and Eve. But thanks to God that Jesus Christ was slain to receive power, riches, strength, honour, glory, blessing and wisdom (Revelations 5:12). He was slain to receive those things that He give them to the children of men – you and I. Guess how He chose to give us that power?
Therefore, when they had come together, they asked Him saying, "Lord, will You at this time restore the kingdom to Israel?" And He said to them, "It is not for you to know times or seasons which the Father has put in His own authority. But you shall receive POWER when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be witnesses to Me in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth."
Acts 1:6-8
God has brought back the power that man lost in Eden, which man has been seeking from generations to generations in the world system. He has brought back the power through Jesus Christ, and only the men and women, boys and girls that are baptized with or by the Holy Spirit of God that can claim their portion of God's power that is available for man. What the devil carried around now is fake power (assumed power), the real was withdrawn from him when Jesus was crucified at Jerusalem, if you continue to seek power from hell, you will end up in hell and great regret.
I didn't write this article to preach to you, but to show you the three oldest needs of man. You were made by God to need water, food and power. If you lack any of the three, you will die; however, if you seek any of the try in wrong places, you will equally die.
Go to God for the true supply of power, seek the right things in the right places, and God will come true for you in Jesus name. Amen!!!!
