Please read: The State of Being Pt 1: The Prerequisite For The Blessing Here
There would be no struggle, when you come to Mount Zion, no struggle! The blessing will materialize, but on Mount Zion. Nowhere else! The location for the blessing to materialize is Mount Zion that is where you can be delivered. That is where you can be holy and that is where you can possess your possession. What you walk in determines how you turn out. It determines your life, it determines your experience.
3 “Blessed are the poor in spirit, For theirs is the kingdom of heaven. 4 Blessed are those who mourn, For they shall be comforted. 5 Blessed are the meek, For they shall inherit the earth.
6 Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, For they shall be filled. 7 Blessed are the merciful, For they shall obtain mercy. 8Blessed are the pure in heart, For they shall see God. 9 Blessed are the peacemakers, For they shall be called sons of God. 10 Blessed are those who are persecuted for righteousness’ sake, For theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
Matthew 5:3-10 (NKJV)
Matt.5.3 – "Blessed are the poor in spirit, For theirs is the kingdom of heaven.- Now I want us to pay attention to this, because Jesus was not just teaching, Jesus was sharing a life principle, he didn't just say blessed are all of you that are seated here for yours is the kingdom of heaven, it talked about a different state of being. When you become this, this will be your experience, when you become this, this will be your outcome, this is how you will turn out.
And that's why He said “blessed are the poor in spirit” that is the state of their being "poor in spirit for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.”
Matt 5:4 – Blessed are those who mourn, for they shall be comforted- Can you be comforted if you don't mourn? If I just look at you and say bro. Francis, be comforted, won't you look at me and think I don't know what am saying? You connect to the comfort because of your state.
Matt.5.5 – Blessed are the meek, For they shall inherit the earth.-So for different states, there are different experiences, for different states of being, there are different turn outs and outcomes and that's why the Bible says something in James 1:22-25.
We want to look at the state of being that God requires of us and the experience that we gain out of it.
But be doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving yourselves.(Did we see the word be? ) For if anyone is a hearer of the word and not a doer, he is like a man observing his natural face in a mirror; – for he observes himself, goes away, and immediately forgets what kind of man he was. But he who looks into the perfect law of liberty and continues in it, and is not a forgetful hearer but a doer of the work, this one will be blessed in what he does.
James.1:22 (NKJV)
This one that is a doer, this one that has changed his being from just being a hearer to a doer, will be blessed, in what he does, so it’s not everybody. So you have been screaming ‘in Jesus everything is rosy, if you give your life to Jesus, you will have good health, everything would be fine but how come I have not been experiencing that?’ Are you a doer or just a hearer? Have you changed your being? Do you just sit down and hear the word? ‘Faith cometh by hearing and hearing by the word of God’ and you have been quoting that Scripture and you are not a doer, you have not seen this James 1:22-25, you are not a doer of the word. You can't be blessed in whatever you do.
So the state of your being is the prerequisite for the blessing. You can't enjoy the blessing when you refused to change the state of your being. Until Jacob was changed from Jacob to Israel even though the blessing was on his head, it did not materialize. He was perpetually running, perpetually enslaved, so much so that he served in Laban's house, he served for a wife, they cheated him, supplanted him, he served another seven years to marry the wife he wanted to marry, after he had finished getting married, time to now get his wages, he was cheated over and over again until his name changed. Until the state of his being changed from Jacob to Israel, that was his experience.
And you will ask yourself ‘was Jacob not blessed?’ He was blessed but his state did not reflect the blessing. Until his state changed the blessing did not materialize. There is a state of your being that produces the blessing in your life. Until you come to that place, you can't be blessed.

I want us to see the story of Abraham in Genesis 17. We will see that God has been consistent with his principles, God is not a man that would lie nor the son of man that would repent. He has been consistent from the beginning.
1 When Abram was ninety-nine years old, the Lord appeared to Abram and said to him, “I am Almighty God; walk before me and be blameless. 2 And I will make my covenant between Me and you, and will multiply you exceedingly.”
Genesis 17:1-2 (NKJV)
This is the state that can produce the blessing, He said ‘and be blameless’. What did God say in verse 2. He said “and I will", did we see that word? He didn't say “I shall”, He said “I will”, it’s conditional. You have to walk before me and be blameless, you have to change your state, then I will produce, I will give you the result of the change in state. “Walk before me and be perfect, walk before me and be blameless, walk before me and be holy and I will”. When you change your state, it will provoke in me to give to you all that I have said. And it said I will make my covenant between me and you and I will multiply you exceedingly.
See what God did in Genesis 17 verse 5: “No longer shall your name be called Abram, but your name shall be Abraham; for I have made you a father of many nations”.
The same experience of Jacob, until his name changed, until his state changed, the blessing didn't materialize, so when you sing Abraham's blessings are mine it, it wasn't the Abraham that was not perfect, it was not the Abraham that was without blame. God said “walk before me and be blameless” that's the one that God blessed. That's the one God made a covenant with for generations.
So when we want to experience the blessing of the Lord, same thing God said to Abraham here, God is saying to us, walk before me and be blameless. Walk before me and be perfect. Come to Mount Zion be delivered and be holy. “but on Mount Zion there shall be deliverance and holiness”, that's the prerequisite for possessing your possession, you have to be delivered from where ever has held you bound. Like that mad man of gadarenes, he was held bound by demons and he had to be delivered, and after he was delivered he was made holy then he could possess his possession. So be holy, be a doer of the word, don't just be a hearer of the word.
I want us to see Psalm 1 and amazingly that's the first chapter in the book of psalms.
1 Blessed is the man who walks not in the counsel of the 1ungodly, Nor stands in the path of sinners, Nor sits in the seat of the scornful; 2 But his delight is in the law of the Lord, and in His law he meditates day and night. 3 He shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water that brings forth its fruit in its season, whose leaf also shall not wither; and whatever he does shall prosper. 4 The ungodly are not so, but are like the chaff which the wind drives away. 5 Therefore the ungodly shall not stand in the judgment, nor sinners in the congregation of the righteous.6 For the Lord knows the way of the righteous, but the way of the ungodly shall perish.
Psalms 1:1-6 (NKJV)
Are we seeing, this two principles coming out again? Holiness and being a doer of the word of God, you can't step into the blessing without fulfilling this two, it says ‘blessed is the man who does not walk in the counsel of the ungodly’- that means he is blameless, he is holy, and not just that, ‘his delight (the state of his being is the doer of the word) is in the law of the lord and he meditates on it day and night.’
In verse 3 it says "he shall be" not “he will be”. It is definite, if this is the state of your being, this will be your experience. He shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that brings forth its fruit in its season. It doesn't miss it. Fruitful all year round! ‘Whose leaves shall not wither and whatever he does shall prosper’.
“Blessed is the man….,” there is no two ways about it. On Mount Zion there shall be deliverance and there shall be holiness then the house of Jacob, then the house of Omolara, then the house of Francis shall possess their possession after they have come to Mount Zion, after they have encountered deliverance after they have encountered holiness. That's the state of our being that produces the blessing.
So what is the state of your being? Do you delight in the word of the Lord? Do you meditate on it day and night? Are you a doer of the word or are you just a hearer? Wow! What a message, fantastic word! The woman was sweating and she preached. Ah! God used that woman mightily. Is that the end of it? Do you just hear and observe the happenings or you are a doer of the word?
When Jesus went to the house of Mary and Martha, the Bible says Martha was cumbered about much serving, she was engaged, she was busy, but Mary sat at the feet of Jesus and when Martha complained and said to Jesus ‘why are you not telling Mary to come and assist me?’ He said ‘Mary has chosen the right part’, to attract my blessing you must not be cumbered by much serving, sit at my feet and learn of me, meditate on my word day and night, be perfect, be holy that's how you attract my blessing, He said ‘no one will be able to take what she has gotten from her’. It is eternal in nature. On Mount Zion, you don't just possess your possession temporarily, its permanent. You are always victorious, you are always winning as long as you remain in Zion.
So the state of your being is the prerequisite for the blessing. So much that God has said concerning your life and they are not materializing, ask yourself these two questions, what is the state of my being? Am I on Mount Zion daily? Or am I just on Mount Zion for a season? It's only when I am doing three days of fasting and prayer that I come to Mount Zion or am I perpetually on Mount Zion? Do I come to Jesus daily? Do I come to this company? What a wonderful company! It’s only on Mount Zion that we can possess our possession. And it only comes on the altar of Holiness and doing the word of God actively.
In verse 24 of James he said ‘he that is the doer of the work’. So the word translates from word to work, so it becomes your occupation, it becomes your profession. So you can't be separated from it. Who is that man? He is a doer of the word. Who is that man? He is a believer of the word that means you are working. So when somebody ask you, what do you do for a living? I am a believer, I am a doer of the word, that's my occupation, that's my profession. You are on the path that will deliver your blessing. And I pray the Lord will help us in the name of Jesus.
