We began looking at the book of Isaiah 11:1-5 a few weeks ago. Understanding the Dimension of God That Make Any Human Fulfill Ministry on CentreNDL”>Ministry, and again, we will launch into the deep by the grace of God. We will look again from verse one to verse five, learning the dimension of God that you and I require to fulfill ministry. I would read from verse one, the Bible says:
There shall come forth a Rod from the stem of Jesse,
And a Branch shall grow out of his roots.
2 The Spirit of the Lord shall rest upon Him,
The Spirit of wisdom and understanding,
The Spirit of counsel and might,
The Spirit of knowledge and of the fear of the Lord.3 His delight is in the fear of the Lord,
And He shall not judge by the sight of His eyes,
Nor decide by the hearing of His ears;
4 But with righteousness He shall judge the poor,
And decide with equity for the meek of the earth;
He shall strike the earth with the rod of His mouth,
And with the breath of His lips He shall slay the wicked.
5 Righteousness shall be the belt of His loins,
And faithfulness the belt of His waist.
May the Lord bless the reading of His word in our hearts in Jesus’ name. already we understand that as it was for Jesus, it is for all of us that have been called unto God, that have been born unto God through Jesus. You remember the Bible declares that Jesus is the first born among many brethren. So, we are the brethren and He is the first born among us. He is our model, He is our leader, we followers. And as His followers, the things that are required to function, to fulfill His ministry, we require the same. There was a time Jesus said “it is to your advantage that I go to the Father because if I do not go, the helper cannot come. But when I go, I will send the helper to you and He will comfort you and guide you into all truth.”
Now, one of the things that you must also remember is when Jesus said “the works that I do you will do it and greater works than this you will do because I go to the Father.” The essence of Him going to the Father is so that He might send the Spirit of the Father to us. The same Spirit at work in Him is the same Spirit He promised to send and by that same Spirit we are able to do the works that He did and we are even able to do greater works than that. Why? Because He is at the Father and He has sent His Spirit. So, what we have been considering has been the dimensions of God, the dimensions of the Spirit of God that we require as the servants of God and as vessels of God’s glory and honor on the earth to fulfill our ministry. Jesus, the Bible says: had the Spirit without measure. Now we require the dimension, the measure of God’s Spirit that we may fulfill the ministry, the specific assignment of God as committed into our hands.
We have looked at the Spirit of the Lord. The Bible says “the Spirit of the Lord shall rest upon Him.” We have looked at the Spirit of wisdom, we have considered the Spirit of understanding and last week, we were taken through the Spirit of counsel. By the special grace of God, we are considering in this message: The Spirit of Might. The Bible says in Isaiah 11:2, “the Spirit of the Lord shall rest upon Him, the Spirit of wisdom and understanding, the Spirit of counsel and might.” Of course, the Bible joined them together, the Spirit of counsel and might, but they are not the same. Every Spirit mentioned here is distinct and it is for a distinct purpose. The Spirit of counsel the role He plays in your life. The Spirit of might has His own role. So, when the dimension of God is revealed in you, it produces an ability to do. So, the question is: what is it that you have received as a burden from the Lord? If you have received a burden from the Lord you have the ability to do it. Do you have the ability to carry it out? Can God give you a will and give you no ability to do? But should you say “I have received a will from the Lord, I have received the understanding of His plan, I have understood what the Lord wants me to do, but what I lack is the ability to do."
Now, if you sincerely lack the ability to do what you think God ask you to do, I believe you lack the Spirit of might. The Bible even says in the book of Philippians 2:13, it says: “for it is God who works in you both to will and to do for His good pleasure.” So, if you have a willingness to do, you must never lack the ability to do if it was God who produced the will and this is a test for each one of us. You have received a vision from the Lord, you have received an agenda of God for your life, but you are clear in your mind that you lack the ability, I believer strongly that what you lack is the Spirit of might. By the Spirit of might you are able to carry out the assignment of God for your life, you are able to do whatever God requires of you, you are able to fulfill your ministry by the Spirit of might.
You remember what the Bible says in the book of Isaiah 40:29-31, popular Scripture that we read in the body of Christ, let me start my reading from verse 28. It says:
Have you not known?
Have you not heard?
The everlasting God, the Lord,
The Creator of the ends of the earth,
Neither faints nor is weary.
His understanding is unsearchable.
29 He gives power to the weak,
And to those who have no might He increases strength.
30 Even the youths shall faint and be weary,
And the young men shall utterly fall,
31 But those who wait on the Lord
Shall renew their strength;
They shall mount up with wings like eagles,
They shall run and not be weary,
They shall walk and not faint.
So, you must see that it is not because you are a young man or you are an old man that you lack strength or you have strength. There is a chance or a possibility for a man who is even at the prime of his years to lack the ability or the strength to carry out whatever has come to his or her mind to do. But by the might of God, by the Spirit of might, every human is enabled to do the things that he or she is expected to do. So, when there is a willingness to do, there is a corresponding supply of grace from the Lord. You see, when we talk about the Spirit of might, when we talk about strength, it is so much linked to grace. So, when God gives a man grace, what God is doing is that He is releasing the Spirit of might into the man. God is supplying strength; God is giving the power to do. It is important you know that it is one thing to know how to do something and it is another thing to have the ability to do. That dimension of God, that side of God, that pursuit of God that is made available for humans to enable any human fulfill and carry out an exploit, carry out a task on the earth, is the Spirit of might.
So, if you lack the ability, the Bible says “if you faint in the days of adversity it is because your strength is little.” Now, if your strength is little, you require the Spirit of might. You cannot tell yourself “I will do it all by myself.” You can’t do it; you have not been able to do it. You require God and the dimension of God that you require is the Spirit of might. So, it is important you open your mouth to God and confess your desires to Him saying:
“Lord, I require the Spirit of might, by strength shall no man prevail. It is not by power neither is it by any human might, but by my Spirit says the Lord. Lord, by the Spirit of might, I am able to leap over the walls, I am able to carry out great exploit. Lord, I receive the Spirit of might in the name of Jesus, I am enabled, I don’t just have a desire to do your will or carry out the task, I have the ability to do, I am enabled to do.”
Apostle Paul said in the book of 2 Corinthians 12:7-10. It says: “And lest I should be exalted above measure by the abundance of the revelations, a thorn in the flesh was given to me, a messenger of Satan to buffet me, lest I be exalted above measure. 8 Concerning this thing I pleaded with the Lord three times that it might depart from me. 9 And He said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for My strength is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore, most gladly I will rather boast in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me. 10 Therefore I take pleasure in infirmities, in reproaches, in needs, in persecutions, in distresses, for Christ’s sake. For when I am weak, then I am strong.”
I want us to begin to declare it into our lives: I am strong by the Spirt of might in the name of Jesus. The grace of God is sufficient for me, I do not lack the ability to do. Lord, I do not just want to be a man with great burdens, I want to be a man who is able to carry out great burdens. I want to be able to carry out the great task that you have given unto me. I don’t just want to be burdened; I want to have the ability to do it. I don’t just want to have a will; I want to have the ability to do. Please help me Lord, by your Spirit enable me. Let me be enabled, let every weakness in me be replaced with strength; every inability be replaced with ability in the name of Jesus, I receive the capacity of the Lord, by the Spirit of the Lord I am enabled, no more labor in the flesh, I carry out great exploits by the Spirit of the Lord, I am not fainting, I am not wearied in well doing, the Lord supplies my strength in the name of Jesus!
Father we thank you for this moment, we thank you for the entrance of your word that gives light and understanding to us the simple, thank you Lord because by your Spirit, the Spirit of might, we are enabled in the name of Jesus. Every burden that you have put in our hearts, every willingness that you have produced in us, Lord, let there be a corresponding ability supplied by you in the name of Jesus, Lord; we will no longer receive burden from you ad then carry them out in the flesh in the name of Jesus. We shall rely on the Spirt of the Lord that is able to make us mighty, that is able to increase our might on the earth, in the name of Jesus.
Thank you very much for the gift of your time, such a great company you have been, I believe the Lord has reached out to us, no longer shall be unable to do what God desires us to do, By His Spirit we are able, by His Spirit we are enabled, and we shall fulfill our ministries in Jesus’ name. Till the next time I bring you another dimension of God that we require to fulfill ministry, stay in the strength of the Lord.
