The mystery of human behaviour has been a drive for many sociological and psychological researches across the world. There is a sternly desire in us as a people to know why people do what they do; behave the way they do; and make the choices they make.
Adolf Hitler was a unique man on the landscape of time and history. He was ferocious in his impact and audacious in his ambition. He drove his plan so far that he almost destroyed a race and a generation of a people.
Mother Theresa is another unique woman on the landscape of history. She was not large in her physical makeup; but was extra-large on her inside. When everyone was seeing poverty, diseases and other social woes; she was touched by them.
From Adam to Cain/Abel, to Moses, to David, to Solomon, John the Baptist, Jesus Christ of Nazareth to Paul the Apostle, to Kathryn Kuhlman, to Bishop Benson Idahosa, to Marthin Luther King Jnr., to Adolf Hitler, to Nelson Mandela and to Barack Obama and then you; men and women have become actually distinguished, not by their heights, races or career; neither were they distinguished by their wealth, but by their hearts.
From Adam and Eve (his wife) came Cain and Abel; however, the two became distinct entities by their heart conditions. Isaac gave birth (through Rebekah his wife) to Esau and Jacob; yet, the two brothers were different by their hearts.
You see, much of what we call individual differences are actually heart differences. And if a group of people could have same heart; they will become one in all things.
King Solomon of ancient Israel noted, “For as he thinks in his heart, so is he…” (Proverbs 23:7). Wicked people do not have wicked hands or wicked eyes or wicked legs; but wicked hearts. It is just as it is written, “Make the tree good, and its fruits will be good.” A man will become his heart; and everyman is a product and a determinant of his heart condition. And that is why Solomon advised that our hearts must be guarded with all diligence. Why? Because it defines who we are and what we do and say!
When King Nebuchadnezzar was to be punished by God; he was driven from among men and ate grass like oxen; his body was wet with the dew of heaven till his hair had grown like eagles’ feathers and his nails like birds’ claws. (Daniel 4:33)
As pathetic as the king’s case was, the moment his heart was transformed; his life was transformed.
Do you know that a man can behave like or as a pig; if he has the heart of a pig? Do you know that your body, stature or complexion is built around your heart? Do you know that you have the hands, eyes, mouth and body of man because the heart of man is in you?
What the devil and his demons do whenever they want to turn around a man’s destiny; is to change such person’s heart. When a man’s heart is replaced with a goat’s heart; such a person becomes a goat in a man’s cloth (appearance). When a man’s heart is replaced with a snake’s heart; the man becomes a snake like a man.
What a world we are in! It therefore becomes clear that the good, the bad and the ugly all around us across races, religion, culture and nations are the people with the good, the bad and the ugly hearts. Your heart is you and you are your heart. Therefore, the key to changing you is to change your heart!

Revelations 17:16-17
If you read the preceding verses of that Scripture, you will discover the power of the heart. Any man can change at anytime once his heart is changed.
