A few days ago, I published a paper titled: Stunted Growth Malady, I believe you have read it already; but should you not, please kindly do before proceeding with this write up (for a better understanding of the subject matter). In Stunted Growth Malady, I alluded to the fact that Growth is often impeded by lack of access to adequate water supply. And as most (even all) plants dry up (die) or become stunted in their growth due to lack of water; humans also experience stunted growth of their minds, spirit or soul without adequate access to true knowledge.
In this writing, my focus isn't so much on the WATER (KNOWLEDGE) dimension to growth; but the inevitability of the SOIL (EARTH) for the STABILITY, STRENGTH and SAFETY of any plant or tree. While watering some plants within my garden, I observed a plant whose root has been eroded by water. The root was so eroded that I almost saw all the networks of the root of the plant. As soon as I noticed that particular OCCURRENCE, I quickly covered the root with soil from around the area. After the exercise, I immediately received an instruction from the Holy Spirit, which is the basis for this writing. Plants need water for growth and life; however, the water must not uncover their roots to the heat of the sun – for if that happens; the tree would dry up from the roots.
While meditating further, I realized that the SOIL is a strategic requirement for the SUSTAINABILITY or GROWTH of any plant. When the RAIN comes, the SOIL helps the trees to retain WATER for many days, weeks or months. When the SUN comes, the SOIL helps the trees to preserve or conserve what has been retained from the SUN. Hence, the SOIL serves as the SHOCK ABSOBER for the trees or plants. Without the soil, any tree can lose whatever it has received from ABOVE as RAIN quickly, the moment another resource from ABOVE (SUN) arises.
The point is this, it is possible for you to RECEIVE something from ABOVE, which is a necessity for your GROWTH; yet, that thing may also (if not careful) become a catalyst for ERODING what you have received earlier for your GROWTH from your life. As the plants require good SOIL for what they have received from ABOVE to be retained for them; I believe every human require the right CHARACTER (refined quality of being) for what you have received from above as KNOWLEDGE, VISION of REVELATION to become a reality.
In the writing of Apostle Paul to the Corinthians, I admonished them to be wary of KNOWLEDGE – for it puffs up! If all you have is a couple of ideas or vision or revelation; and you lack the right ATTITUDE to work, people, or even God; you would soon lose what you have received. Quite often, we see a lot of people progress so fast in life; but due to reasons best known to them, no one can trace their paths unto honour or authority again – they simply lost it. The question I believe we should ask is, "Why do people lose precious positions, authority, opportunity or privilege so soon?" I think the answer is also in the Bible:
18 “Therefore hear the parable of the sower: 19 When anyone hears the word of the kingdom, and does not understand it, then the wicked one comes and snatches away what was sown in his heart. This is he who received seed by the wayside. 20 But he who received the seed on stony places, this is he who hears the word and immediately receives it with joy; 21 yet he has no root in himself, but endures only for a while. For when tribulation or persecution arises because of the word, immediately he stumbles. 22 Now he who received seed among the thorns is he who hears the word, and the cares of this world and the deceitfulness of riches choke the word, and he becomes unfruitful. 23 But he who received seed on the good ground is he who hears the word and understands it, who indeed bears fruit and produces: some a hundredfold, some sixty, some thirty.”
Matthew 13:18-23
If you look at the last verse 23 very carefully, you would notice that the greatest ENEMY of GROWTH is not KNOWLEDGE (that comes via the word – since all of them had the word); the ENEMY of GROWTH from that Scripture is the (lack of good or enough) SOIL. You can give two people same opportunity to manifest; however, you cannot presume that the two people we manifest in same MANNER or NATURE. That nature is what I called CHARACTER! In fact, our differences isn't much about our languages or religion or race or gender; but our CHARACTER.
If you must GROW (steadily over a long period of time); then you must give attention to the KIND of NATURE you have that RECEIVES the KNOWLEDGE you desire or pray for or work daily. If you don't fix your NATURE, but only concentrate on your "More-Knowledge", you would soon realize that the knowledge hasn't really profitted you all!
