6 In the year that King Uzziah died, I saw the Lord sitting on a throne, high and lifted up, and the train of His robe filled the temple. 2 Above it stood seraphim; each one had six wings: with two he covered his face, with two he covered his feet, and with two he flew. 3 And one cried to another and said:
“Holy, holy, holy is the Lord of hosts;
The whole earth is full of His glory!”4 And the posts of the door were shaken by the voice of him who cried out, and the house was filled with smoke.
5 So I said:
“Woe is me, for I am [a]undone!
Because I am a man of unclean lips,
And I dwell in the midst of a people of unclean lips;
For my eyes have seen the King,
The Lord of hosts.”6 Then one of the seraphim flew to me, having in his hand a live coal which he had taken with the tongs from the altar. 7 And he touched my mouth with it, and said:
“Behold, this has touched your lips;
Your iniquity is taken away,
And your sin [b]purged.”
8 Also I heard the voice of the Lord, saying:
“Whom shall I send,
And who will go for Us?”Then I said, “Here am I! Send me.”
9 And He said, “Go, and tell this people:
‘Keep on hearing, but do not understand;
Keep on seeing, but do not perceive.’
Isaiah 6:1-9
From United States of America to United Kingdom and the European Union; the prevailing narratives of most people today are, Coronavirus Pandemic, Job Losses, Economic Recession and numerous deaths. The truth is, it is easier to be afraid anywhere in the world today than it has ever been. Am sure you remember that even at war times; the entire earth is hardly under attack or threat as we have it today.
Yet, beyond the general narrative, it important that we all have our individual narratives, which are completely different from what is everywhere. The pressing question that faces each one of us today is, "What Will Define Our OWN 2020?" We are probing quietly, "How will your own 2020 be described in years to come?"
In the Scripture above, one important thing stands out and we need to pay rapt attention to it. Isaiah said, "In the YEAR that King Uzziah DIED, I saw the LORD…." Am sure you have seen that in many occasions, but we must look at it now to learn from it.
The death of King Uzziah was a tragedy, a bad occurrence; however, something pleasant happened to the Prophet in an unpleasant period that redefined his Ministry forever – he saw the LORD! Therefore, each time people remember the painful death of King Uzziah, Isaiah remembers his privileged and beautiful experience of seeing the LORD, which made him into a different Prophet, whose legacy is beyond his own lifetime.
The simple question am asked to ask you is, "What Would Define Your Own 2020? Would it be mere widespread death? Or would it be economic collapse of nations and corporations? It is very important therefore for us to review our daily choices, routines and patterns; so that we can be sure to chart the right course that we lead us into our unique individual experiences, which would define our 2020.
Meditate on these words till we connect again on this channel! God bless your 2020 in Jesus Name!!! Amen!
