The Law of Seed: Whose Leadership DNA Do You Have?

The question that arises from the title is whose leadership DNA do you have? It has been said that things of any kind produces after their kind. When you read the book of Genesis 1, when God was instituting the earth and the things of the earth, He mentioned the fact that every other thing that will come after words is going to be what produces them. You may look at the animals, trees – each one is going to follow its nature. So there are different creations of God and creatures of God. The nature is ordained by God to reproduce after its kind. When you want to understand the manner of man/woman you are, when you want to know the kind of leader that you will ever be, I believe strongly that you must interrogate very strongly the kind of leadership DNA that you have.

The DNA that you have as a man, the DNA of a black for example is different from the DNA of the white. If you want to know if a child belongs to a man or it belongs to another man, what you have to do is to collect the sample of the man and the DNA sample of the child. So, you find anyone of the men having the same DNA with that of the child, either boy or girl that is the matter of controversy. The point is; with DNA, you can trace a man's origin and identity. You can identify where a man is coming from by probing his DNA. What is true for men, is true for leaders. What is true for people, is true for leaders. If you can find a leader's DNA, you can interrogate and come to a point of conclusion that this is the kind of leader that this man is. This is the kind of leader that this woman is. You can explain where he/she comes from as a leader.

Listen To Podcast: The Law of Seed: Whose Leadership DNA Do You Have?

A Scripture in Hebrews says "every house is built by someone but the builder of all things is God." And so, while God is the one who originates everyone, each one we see around is a product of someone else. If we can have the DNA of what is produced, you will have an idea of who produced it. So, you don't have to struggle too much about your real identity. Although; they said nature forbids vacuum. I am of the opinion that nature forbids a state where a man, an offspring or a creature is produced from nothing. As a leader, you are produced by someone or something. If you can understand your DNA, then you can understand where you are coming from; if we can know your core then we can know who gave birth to you, who you are as a leader.

Today, we would be looking at "the Law of Seed" and who we are as individuals, so that we can accurately pinpoint and know what to demand and expect from life and leadership. If a Sheep is given leadership responsibility over other animals, the authority and effectiveness of the Sheep over those animals is to the capacity of the origin of the Sheep. If you bring a Lion and ask the Lion to lead the animals, the Lion wouldn't lead like a Sheep, he would lead like a Lion, simply because he has the Lion gene in him and it's a leadership gene. It's not a gene that follows, it is a gene that provides leadership. A gene that gives example, a gene that trails the blaze, that finds the path, a path finding gene. If you see the eagles flying, they fly because they have it in their DNA, the capacity for flight. If you see the chickens, they may have feathers, they may have natures that have physical appearances that looks like the Eagles, because of their DNA, they are different from the Eagles. No matter how much you train a Chicken, the Chicken cannot do what the Eagles can.

Why? It is in the DNA of the Eagles to fly very high in the sky. You cannot behave contrary to your gene, your nature! So, the more you appreciate or accept your gene, your DNA; the easier it becomes for you to really find your effectiveness or to really find your rhythm in life. Today, we would be going to the book of Genesis 21 to see from the Bible, the implication of the law of seed, how to appropriate it to our lives and into our leadership developments as leaders.

1 And the Lord visited Sarah as He had said, and the Lord did for Sarah as He had spoken.

2 For Sarah conceived and bore Abraham a son in his old age, at the set time of which God had spoken to him.

3 And Abraham called the name of his son who was born to him–whom Sarah bore to him–Isaac.

4 Then Abraham circumcised his son Isaac when he was eight days old, as God had commanded him.

5 Now Abraham was one hundred years old when his son Isaac was born to him.

6 And Sarah said, "God has made me laugh, and all who hear will laugh with me."

7 She also said, "Who would have said to Abraham that Sarah would nurse children? For I have borne him a son in his old age."

Genesis 21:1-7

If you understand where this story originated from, then you would realize that God had aforetime ordained the child that will continue to perpetuate the blessing of Abraham, that would be born to Abraham by Sarah. At a point, Abraham was thinking maybe one of his servants would be his heir and God said, No! The one who would be his heir, the one who will take after you, who will replicate your authority, your effectiveness on the earth is going to be one that would be born by Sarah for you. Understanding that, then there was an emphasis on "the son that Sarah bore to him." So, the emphasis was his son that Sarah bore to him and we must note that.

Let us continue from verse 8

8 So the child grew and was weaned. And Abraham made a great feast on the same day that Isaac was weaned.

9 And Sarah saw the son of Hagar the Egyptian, whom she had borne to Abraham, scoffing.

10 Therefore she said to Abraham, "Cast out this bondwoman and her son; for the son of this bondwoman shall not be heir with my son, namely with Isaac."

The basis upon which Sarah decreed that statement was on the word of God. Bible said Sarah would would give birth to a son who would perpetuate the authority of Abraham on the Earth. And so, because there was something that the husband and the wife called a delay, which God didn't see as a delay, they opted for a short cut. And so, one of the maid servants of Sarah was made a new wife as it were for Abraham and she conceived, and gave birth to a man called Ishmael. So, a son was born to Abraham by the name Ishmael through Hagar. But, since that isn't the promise of God, Sarah said "the child of the bondwoman would not remain and will not inherit the promise" simply because, God has said it is the son that I give birth to. So, on the basis of that, she requested that the woman and her son be sent away. But do not forget that Abraham was the father, so when the Bible refers to Ishmael, to the child that Hagar gave birth to "is a child that Hagar bore to Abraham." So, Abraham was the father, Abraham was the one who released the seed to the woman called Hagar. The seed is the seed of Abraham. Even though it was not a seed of promise, but it was the seed of Abraham.

11 And the matter was very displeasing in Abraham's sight because of his son.

Don't forget that was not to say what he had given birth to through another woman is not a seed. But the Bible says in Isaac, not in Ishmael " Your seed shall be called." So let's continue. God said something and it is very important. "I will also make a nation of the son of the bond woman because he is your seed."  Another way we can put it is; "I will also make a nation of the son of the bond woman for her child carries in him your DNA." So, what he has in him is what you have in yourself and there is a portion of yourself, there is a portion of life, grace, authority that you carry that he shares with you and because of that you also become a great nation.

13 Yet I will also make a nation of the son of the bondwoman, because he is your seed."

14 So Abraham rose early in the morning, and took bread and a skin of water; and putting it on her shoulder, he gave it and the boy to Hagar, and sent her away. Then she departed and wandered in the Wilderness of Beersheba.

15And the water in the skin was used up, and she placed the boy under one of the shrubs.

16 Then she went and sat down across from him at a distance of about a bowshot; for she said to herself, "Let me not see the death of the boy." So she sat opposite him, and lifted her voice and wept.

17 And God heard the voice of the lad. Then the angel of God called to Hagar out of heaven, and said to her, "What ails you, Hagar? Fear not, for God has heard the voice of the lad where he is.

Don't forget the boy was crying while the mother was crying and Bible says "God heard the voice of the lad were he is" and that is very instructive

18 Arise, lift up the lad and hold him with your hand, for I will make him a great nation."

Because of who the lad was, because of whose DNA was in the lad, arise and lift up your hand and hold him the lad for I will make him a great nation. Am not doing this because of any other reasons other than the kind of DNA in him. Because he has a nature in him that would produce a capacity, and because of that capacity, he has to become a great nation. So, I will make him a great nation because of the seed that is in him. Because of the DNA. Let us read further from verse 19-21.

19 Then God opened her eyes and she saw a well of water and she went and filled the skin with water and she went and gave the lad a drink. 20 So God was with the lad and you must not forget that and he grew and dwelt in the wilderness and became an acher 21 he dwelt in the wilderness of paran and his mother took a wife for him from the land of Egypt.

The mother is an Egyptian by the way and so, you would see that the moment that God visited her and her child, the boy never lacked. Bible says "and God was with the lad and he grew." So, the reason why the child grew was because God was with him. And the reason why God was with him was because he has a DNA in him that belongs to Abraham, the man that God loves; the man that is the friend of God. So, you must ask: whose DNA do you carry in you as a leader? Because that is going to determine whether God will be with you or God will be far away from you. Some people are looking for God. Some people are really seeking God and some people God is seeking because of the covenant that God had with Abraham their father, God was with him Abraham, God was with Iseac God was with the lad Ishmael. Why? He has a DNA in him.

In verse 13 the Bible says "Yet I will also make a nation of the son of the bondwoman, because he is your seed." Now one of the things I have realized about seed is that your seed among other things would represent you, because the Bible says in verse 17 the concluding part it says:

17 And God heard the voice of the lad. Then the angel of God called to Hagar out of heaven, and said to her, "What ails you, Hagar? Fear not, for God has heard the voice of the lad where he is.

The lad is not with his father the lad is somewhere else yet God heard the voice. So, it means even though the lad is away from the father, the activities of the lad is still a representation of the father. If you conclude this chapter 21 you will see how the Bible says that even Abimelech acknowledged that God was with Abraham. And in verse 20 the Bible says God was with the lad. So, as God was with Abraham God was with the lad.

Another thing that you would also realize is that your seed among other things, would share or would be able to replicate your experience. They will be able to replicate the things that you are able to do. You wouldn't be surprised if you do something, your seed does it. If you smile a lot, your seed too smiles. Why? Your seed carry in them the DNA that belongs to you. So, as it is true for you, it will be true for them, as this is something that we mustn't forget. If your leadership DNA belongs to someone that is cursed, even though you yearn for blessings you would not be able to find yourself under blessing. That is why you must be mindful the type of leadership DNA that you have.

Have you wondered the kind of DNA Adolf Hitler had? Have you wondered who mentored him? Have you wondered whose seed Adolf Hitler was? Do you think such a person was a righteous person? Do you think such a leader was a righteous leader? What do you think became of the seeds of Adolf Hitler? Check all the people you know have done bad in any generation check very well. They are of a bad seed, then their offspring took after them. So, if you are an apple tree for instance, you must produce Apple fruits. If a tree is bad the best way to stop the production of bad fruit is to cut off the tree. See what Jesus said in Matthew 15:13.

13 But He answered and said, "Every plant which My heavenly Father has not planted will be uprooted.

That is what you can do to a tree that produces bad fruits. You simply uproot them. If you don't do that, they will reproduce again after their kind. So, what is it that has reproduced you? Who is that leader that has produced you? If your leader is under convenant from God, you are also a covenant person. If the one who births you is under a grace, you are under grace. If the one also is under a curse, you are also under a curse. That is why you must interrogate what is producing your capacity. Don't allow your nature to be birthed, don't allow your capacity to be ignited or to be initiated by a wrong person; lest you will follow in the same pattern of wrongness. Now, I am sure this one looks somehow, but that is the word that has been laid in my spirit.

Your seed will reproduce your effectiveness, your seed will represent you and other things that we must also realize is that your seed will become you. If you pick an orange seed for instance and you sow it very well, eventually an orange seed will become an orange tree. So, ultimately your seed will become you. What kind of you are you? What kind of man are you? What kind of leader are you? Would you be comfortable realizing that their are thousands of leaders just like you; thousands of men, women, husbands, wives just like you. What will become of a generation that has multitudes of you? These are things that you must ask. Make the tree good and the fruit will be good. If you want to have a future that would be secured, then you must interrogate, you must examine the kind of seed that you are of.

I remember the disciples, James and John talking to Jesus. They said: "Jesus, let's call down fire from heaven to consume these people that do not want to recieve the message of the kingdom." And Jesus said; no, you do not know the manner of Spirit that you are of. There is a seed in you that belongs to the Holy Spirit of God. It does not produce after this very nature. It does not produce after this kind. Things that you are saying is not consistent with your nature. Your nature is a nature of peace, you can go about destroying lives when God has sent you to raise lives. So you must understand your nature. Are you a leader? You must understand the kind of leader that you are. And the earlier you discover that, the earlier you will experience peace in your leadership. There would be no struggle. It won't be that you want to do something and you are second guessing yourself. Now you will know what to do, because you will do exactly after your kind, after your nature. And I pray that Gods grace will be multiplied to us in Jesus' name.

Before I conclude this word, now anytime time you talk about seed, I am sure you know that it is also about a sower, it is about a soil. A seed is irrelevant without a sower a seed is irrelevant without a soil. And so, there is a sower, there is a seed and there is a soil. If a seed is good and there is no good soil, then there will be no future for that seed. The reason why a sower will sow in faith in hope is because he is sowing a good seed in a good soil. Talking about leadership seed, for instance; I consider myself to be a sower and I consider my wife to be a good soil and everything and everyone that God has produced through us, any one that God has released on the earth through us, is a seed and there can't be a future for them, if the soil that they are sowing into is not good.

At this point in my life, I want to appreciate my wife, the one that God has made available for me, the one that God has given to me, the one that God has blessed me with and receives my seed, the one that make sure that those seeds become great seeds. Every seed that I have released into her, that God has given me the capacity to release into her, she has done well with them and I am seen the fruit of them. And I am so confident that in the years to come, I and the nations and the generations will benefit from the fruits that would come from the soil, the trees that are grown on the soil of ,my wife, soil of her life and leadership, the soil of marriage and that of the ministry. Today is her birthday, the 6th of February, 2019 and I want to wish her, Happy Birthday. I want you to also join me to wish her happy birthday, and I pray that as God gives her the opportunity to see her another year, she will continue to wax stronger.

Don't forget, it is not enough for a soil to be a soil, the soil must be a fertile soil. The soil that is not fertile has no or little relevance to the sower. Her relevance is in her fertility and I pray that as God increases her year, as God blesses her with years, with strength and health, that she continues to be available for God, she continues to be willing to receive seeds and to grow them for God, for the influence and for the authority of God over nations on the earth and in Nigeria, in the name of Jesus.

Thank you for the gift of your time and God bless you!
