While most of us would love to be the first to do a thing, the first to sit on a seat, the first to arrive at a destination, the first to reach a height, the first to settle in a place and the first to know or speak about a thing. The truth may be far from our thoughts and perspectives.
According to the book of Ecclesiastes 1:4, one generation passes, another generation comes, but the earth abides forever. While that is the truth, there is also a tendency for the present generation to assume that all that has ever been is here….a thinking that, I am perhaps the first man or woman to ever get to this point. However, the truth is, where you are today, others have been there before. When they were leaving, they were not allowed to go with the earth, so that you and I find our own places in it.
Have you ever wondered that the land that we kill ourselves over in this generation; the cities and villages we fight for control over today, were once occupied by men and women in past generations? Have you thought about the fact that land, despite its value and importance across generations has never been fully occupied or exhausted by any generation.
You could be in a position today, but the reality is that, other have been there before; they played their part and they left….even as you must play your part and leave. They left without going with the position, so that you can fulfill your own purpose in it….that was their own legacy to you. What then are you going to leave behind for the generations after you.
There was a man in Nigeria, a business tycoon and philanthropist, his name was Moshood Kashimawo Abiola (MKO). He owned many places and organizations. In his time, he even borrowed an African government money for the payment of the workers salaries. He is gone today, but he could not go with his wealth, estates and properties. They were taken up by the next generation. Some of his properties were scattered immediately by his many children….but the truth is, many of them are in the hands of men and women who never met him in his life time. In short, one generation passes, another comes, but the earth, remains.
Have you also thought about this reality that no man owns any land anywhere. What happens is that, government gives people the opportunity to use land for a given period of time….ultimately, government owns all the land within their jurisdiction. While government owns all land within their jurisdiction, God owns all land on the earth; and He does not give it to any man permanently, He releases it generationally for His purpose on the earth.
In view of these realities, there is absolutely no reason for you to live your life as if it will never end; and you cannot take anything out of this earth, not even your just purchased Range Rover Sports 2016 model and your new house at Lekki Phase II. You will leave all that behind, not necessarily to your children, but to the next generation; why then are you so bent on getting money by all means to acquire all these "temporal" things? Are they not fading off in your own eyes in time?
The Law of Generational Shift says, everything that you have or know or do, will not start or end with you; but must be shifted to the next generations. Even the position of the King or President will shift to the next generations. Fear God, who reigns forever and whose throne is forever established in heaven: for He alone rules over the affairs of all men!
