Satan we know was originally referred to as Lucifer – the son of the morning, when he was in heaven, functioning as the covering Cherub of God. However, when pride entered him, he was thrown out of heaven to the earth.
Job 1:6-12 (NKJV)
6 Now there was a day when the sons of God came to present themselves before the Lord, and [a]Satan also came among them. 7 And the Lord said to [b]Satan, “From where do you come?”
So Satan answered the Lord and said, “From going to and fro on the earth, and from walking back and forth on it.”
8 Then the Lord said to Satan, “Have you [c]considered My servant Job, that there is none like him on the earth, a blameless and upright man, one who fears God and [d]shuns evil?”
9 So Satan answered the Lord and said, “Does Job fear God for nothing? 10 Have You not [e]made a hedge around him, around his household, and around all that he has on every side? You have blessed the work of his hands, and his possessions have increased in the land. 11 But now, stretch out Your hand and touch all that he has, and he will surely curse[f] You to Your face!”
12 And the Lord said to Satan, “Behold, all that he has is in your [g]power; only do not lay a hand on his person.”
So Satan went out from the presence of the Lord.
Revelations 12:10-12 shows how the fallen arc angel – Lucifer was defeated and sent out of heaven; and how furious he is with the children of men was live on earth. Having lost his own place in God, he works tirelessly to make everyone just as he is – a fugitive!
Revelation 12:10-12 (NKJV)
10 Then I heard a loud voice saying in heaven, “Now salvation, and strength, and the kingdom of our God, and the power of His Christ have come, for the accuser of our brethren, who accused them before our God day and night, has been cast down. 11 And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony, and they did not love their lives to the death. 12 Therefore rejoice, O heavens, and you who dwell in them! Woe to the inhabitants of the earth and the sea! For the devil has come down to you, having great wrath, because he knows that he has a short time.”
In the book of Job 1:6-12; the Bible shows how the sons of God came to present themselves before God and how Satan cam also among them. If we look at that phrase 'and Satan also came among them'; we would realize that Satan isn't a son of God anymore; but a rebel – who has lost his estate in God. Being a fugitive and a defeated foe of every man; he has a couple of strategies he uses to perpetrate his evil agenda across the villages, cities, countries and continents of the world.
Listen To Podcast: The 4 Strategic Actions of Satan: Your Real Enemy Exposed FINALLY
If we take a careful look at the Job 1:6-12; we would observe at least, four (4) strategies of Satan that he employs regularly against the works of God. For the sake of time and space, I will briefly mention the observed strategies of Satan against the children of men:
1.) Going to and fro on the earth;
2.) Walking back and forth on it;
3.) Considering (observing, reviewing or monitoring) the servants of God;
4.) Stretching out his hand and touching the lives and properties or possessions of God's people.
If you call to remembrance everything that has happened around your life or environment since you became an adult; you would realize that nothing happens accidentally. No good thing ever happens without God bringing them forth through men and the hosts of heaven; and nothing EVIL ever happens without Satan bringing them on through men and the hosts of hell (the fallen angels).
The first thing I observed from the strategies of Satan is that HE IS NOT OMNIPRESENT – when God asked him, "From where do you come?"; his response show how passionate he is about journeying across cities, countries and continents of the earth. He literally told God that he was going to America, Asia, Africa, Australia, Europe and he was returning from each one of them. That shows that Satan doesn't stay in one place; neither is he in every place. What happens is, by the help of his other fallen angels of God, who stays in territories (as territorial powers); he gets feedback from them over the happenings in the at area. So, it is important that everyone understands this particular strategy of Satan, which makes it difficult for anyone (say Pastor, Evangelist, Pope, Priest or born again person) to avoid the prying eye of Satan. When a man or woman wins a fight with Satan, he doesn't give up; but only withdraws for a while, waiting for an opportune (perfect) time (moment).
"And Jesus answered and said to him, "It is has been said, 'You shall not tempt the LORD your God.'" Now when the devil had ended every temptation, he departed from Him until an opportune time."
Luke 4:12-13
The second thing I observed from the 4 strategies of Satan is that HE IS ANXIOUS & ANNOYED. After telling God he was going to and fro on the earth; he said something else that reveal further his true state of mind and posture of thinking. He said, "…and walking back and forth on it". Walking back and forth means "to walk at a steady speed, especially without a particular destination and as an expression of anxiety or annoyance." In Revelations, the Bible reveals the fury of Satan, which was further confirmed in his own response to God. Being furious, he walks back and forth on the earth. He is clueless, yet busy. He is confused, yet busy creating havoc, crisis and commotion in a bid to make the earth as he is. The truth is, a confused man will do anything possible to confuse other people. Satan doesn't have any specific plan or destination; he has no goal of his own – he is an idle foe who goes around canceling or destroying the plans, purpose and target of others. No wonder, Jesus said, "The thief does not come except to STEAL, KILL and DESTROY…." (John 10:10). The question is, does the thief own what he wants to steal, kill or destroy? Definitely not! The more reason we must be aware of the devices of Satan; lest we become victims of his schemes, wiles and devices.
The third thing I observed from the four (4) strategies of Satan is that HE IS AN OBSERVER or A REVIEWER! Since he has no specific plan or purpose; he is an idle observer of events and people. When you are happy, he is observing you (either directly or through a proxy (demon – evil spirit) and when you're sad, he is observing you. He is so effective in this that he told God a lot about Job when God asked him about Job. When God asked Satan, "Have you CONSIDERED My servant Job?", he didn't say no; rather, he said, "Does Job fear God for nothing? Have you not made a hedge around him, around his household, and around all that he has on EVERY side?" The question is, "How did he know all that?" I believe that he knew all that and perhaps more because he had been OBSERVING, REVIEWING, MONITORING & SPYING him for a very long time. Because the devil is an observer, I will crave our indulgence to be careful how we conduct our affairs – both in the open and in the secret place – For no one can tell when he or she is been watched by Satan or his team. Since he and his other angels are spirits; therefore, no man in the flesh may know when he is being watched by his or her enemies!
The fourth thing I observed from the 4 strategies of Satan is that HE IS A THIEF, KILLER & DESTROYER! What Jesus said in John 10:10 actually shows us the occupation of Satan. After he has complained about God's protection of Job, his family and possessions; he then told God, "But now, stretch out Your hand and touch all that he has, and he will surely curse You to Your face!" Since he was jealously determined to bring down Job as he has done to many men and women before that time; God said, "Behold, all that he has is in your power; only do not lay a hand on his person." If you read the response of God to Satan very carefully, you would acknowledge that Satan is a THIEF, KILLER and a DESTROYER. He loves to steal, kill and destroy – and he does this, not because of any other reason apart from envy, bitterness and jealousy. He wants every man to be as he his – a fugitive and a rebel – one whose punishment is defined in hell – a place that burns with fire and brimstone, prepared by God for the fallen angels. (Revelations 21:8)
Revelation 21:8 (NKJV)
8 But the cowardly, [a]unbelieving, abominable, murderers, sexually immoral, sorcerers, idolaters, and all liars shall have their part in the lake which burns with fire and brimstone, which is the second death.”
If you want to know about the end of Satan, please read the book of Revelations 20 – and your life will never remain the same again. Be blessed in God and in the power of His might! Amen!!!
