Blessed be Your Holy Name. In Jesus’ mighty name, we have given thanks. Glory to God!
- Introduction and Thanksgiving
If you are just joining us, welcome to Activation Night. Tonight, the Holy Spirit is already moving among us, and the Lord has begun to speak and lead us. We stand in the power of Christ, defeating every obstacle that the enemy has placed in our way. We firmly believe in the power of the name of Christ Jesus to overcome and triumph.
Tonight’s session happens to fall on the 31st of January, crossing into the 1st of February, and I believe this timing is strategic. I encourage you to plug into what God has for you tonight. This is not a platform for spectatorship—do not merely watch or wonder what is happening. The Holy Spirit is in charge here, doing a fantastic work. Open your heart, trust in the Lord, and receive your portion by faith. I believe your testimony and your prophecy will be evident in the name of Jesus.
We will be sharing a message entitled “Key Strategies for Overcoming.” After that, we will pray further.
- Foundational Scripture Readings
2.1. Proverbs 20:12
“The hearing ear and the seeing eye, the Lord has made them both.”
This verse anchors the importance of spiritual senses. We will glean God’s wisdom to understand how the hearing ear and the seeing eye are crucial for receiving divine strategies.
2.2. Romans 8:31–39
“Yet in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us” (Romans 8:37).
Let’s consider what the Apostle Paul says from verse 31 onward:
- Romans 8:31: “If God is for us, who can be against us?”
- Romans 8:32: “He who did not spare His own Son, but delivered Him up for us all, how shall He not with Him also freely give us all things?”
- Romans 8:33–34: It is God who justifies and Christ who died, rose, and now makes intercession for us.
- Romans 8:35: “Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword?”
- Romans 8:37: “Yet in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us.”
- Romans 8:38–39: “For I am persuaded that neither death nor life, nor angels nor principalities nor powers, nor things present nor things to come, … shall be able to separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.”
From these verses, we learn that:
- God is for us, therefore nothing can stand effectively against us.
- God gave His Son, Jesus, and with Him, we have access to all things freely given.
- We are more than conquerors through Him who loved us—no tribulation or distress can separate us from God’s love.
When you are going through personal trials—tribulation, persecution, famine, nakedness (symbolic of shame or lack), peril, or sword—understand that Scripture declares:
“Yet in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us.”
- The Two Core Strategies for Overcoming
3.1. Strategy One: Know That You Are More Than a Conqueror (Romans 8:37)
- No matter what difficulty you face, Scripture assures us that we are already victorious. You have an overcoming spirit and victory before the battle even starts, because God loves you.
- Keep this faith firmly in your heart: “Yet in all these things, we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us.”
3.2. Strategy Two: Receive All Things with Christ (Romans 8:32)
- Verse 32 says, “How shall He not with Him also freely give us all things?”
- Every gift, breakthrough, or blessing we seek comes with Christ, not apart from Him. We must not try to receive from God while neglecting Jesus.
- Whenever we pray—be it for children, marriage, health, or provision—our attitude must be:
“Lord, I want these blessings with You. I do not want to lose my relationship with You for the sake of any material gain. I seek these things in Christ and through Christ.”
Therefore, do not desire or expect anything from God without Christ. The Bible’s pattern is that with Christ come all things freely given to us (Ephesians 1:3).
- The Example of Joshua and Jericho (Joshua 5:13–15 and Joshua 6:1–5)
4.1. Joshua’s Seeing Eyes
- Joshua 5:13: “And it came to pass, when Joshua was by Jericho, that he lifted his eyes and looked, and behold, a Man stood opposite him with His sword drawn in His hand…”
- Joshua had spiritual perception (seeing eyes). Proverbs 20:12 reminds us that God gives “the seeing eye and the hearing ear.”
- In Scripture, whenever significant divine instructions are revealed, God often opens His servants’ eyes first, just as Moses saw the burning bush before hearing the Lord’s voice.
4.2. Joshua’s Hearing Ears
- Joshua 5:14–15: The Commander of the Lord’s army identifies Himself, instructs Joshua to remove his sandals because the place is holy, and Joshua obeys.
- By seeing the Commander (symbolic of looking unto Jesus, our Commander and Lord), Joshua is then able to hear specific instructions on how to bring down Jericho’s walls.
- Joshua 6:1–5 provides the precise blueprint God gives to Joshua for conquering Jericho.
From this, we derive that:
- Seeing eyes (looking unto Jesus) open the door to God’s presence and strategy.
- Hearing ears enable us to receive and follow God’s specific instructions.
- “Looking Unto Jesus” as the First Strategy (Hebrews 12:2)
“Looking unto Jesus, the Author and Finisher of our faith…”
- The term “looking” implies a continuous, unwavering focus on Christ.
- When Peter walked on water, he stayed afloat as long as he was looking at Jesus. The moment he focused on the wind and waves (the tribulations, famine, peril, etc.), he began to sink.
- In life’s storms, keep your eyes on Christ to remain in victory.
- Practical Prayers and Declarations
6.1. Prayer for Seeing Eyes
Proverbs 20:12 — “The seeing eye the Lord has made.”
- Ask the Lord to open your spiritual eyes so you can perceive Jesus in every circumstance:
- “Lord, sharpen my focus on Jesus. Help me to look only unto Him, the Author and Finisher of my faith.”
- “I receive the seeing eyes the Lord has made—eyes that discern God’s presence and His will amidst every trial.”
- Pray for clarity of spiritual vision:
- “Father, let me see what You are doing. Let me not be blind in the spirit. Open my eyes to the realm where You operate, so I do not become a prey to the enemy.”
- Pray that your spiritual eyes remain fixed on Christ:
- “I refuse to be distracted by tribulations or distresses. As I look unto Jesus, I overcome and stay afloat in every situation.”
(Expressions in tongues or spontaneous worship may follow. For instance: “O rabba yatan yama shakadi yaba…” — you may continue as led.)
6.2. Prayer for Understanding of What You See
- It is possible to see yet lack understanding. Joshua did not just see the Commander; he understood His significance and bowed in worship.
- “Lord, I will not be dull in understanding. As You show me visions or give me dreams, grant me the spirit of understanding and interpretation. Just as Joshua understood whom he encountered, let me comprehend Your revelations.”
6.3. Prayer for Hearing Ears
Proverbs 20:12 — “The hearing ear the Lord has made.”
- Ask the Lord to open your spiritual ears:
- “Father, grant me hearing ears that discern Your instructions clearly. I receive the ears the Lord has made—ears open to divine direction.”
- Pray for clarity and responsiveness:
- “Lord, let me hear beyond the natural. Let me pick up the frequency of heaven so I may walk in victory. I cancel every interference seeking to dull my spiritual hearing.”
- Pray against confusion or deception:
- “I will not heed the voice of strangers (John 10:5). I recognize, understand, and follow the voice of my Good Shepherd. I shall not be manipulated by counterfeit voices.”
6.4. Prayer for Understanding What You Hear
- Hearing without understanding leads to misdirection. Peter initially struggled to interpret the vision of unclean animals (Acts 10) until the Holy Spirit gave him clarity.
- “Lord, as I hear You speak, help me understand. I pray for the spirit of wisdom and revelation (Ephesians 1:17–18). Grant me discernment to know precisely how to act on Your Word.”
- Additional Declarations
- Victory and Overcoming
- “Father, I declare that I am more than a conqueror. In every challenge, I already have victory through Christ who loves me.”
- With Christ, We Receive All Things
- “I will not seek any blessing apart from Jesus. With Christ, I receive provision, healing, open doors, and fulfillment of destiny.”
- Heading into a New Month/Season
- “As I step into February (and beyond), I declare it a month of favor and victory—back-to-back overcoming experiences by the Spirit of God.”
- “I will have no better yesterday than today. My challenges become my testimonies in Jesus’ name.”
- Conclusion and Closing Prayers
Let us give God praise and honor Him:
“Lord, You are God from the beginning to the end; there is no place for argument. You are God all by Yourself. From the rising of the sun to its setting, Your name is to be hallowed, O Adonai!”
Concluding Prayer
- “Thank You, Lord, for Your presence and power here tonight. For everyone who joined or who will watch the replay, we declare that every breakthrough and miracle is permanent in the name of Jesus. Affliction shall not rise a second time. We speak victory over you this month and throughout the year. May the Spirit of victory abide with you, and may the number of your challenges match the number of your testimonies, in Jesus’ name.”
Benediction (Sharing the Grace)
“May the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, the love of God, and the sweet fellowship of the Holy Spirit rest and abide with us now and forevermore. Amen.
Surely, God’s goodness and mercy shall follow us all the days of our lives, and we shall dwell in the house of the Lord forever and ever. Amen.”
Peace to you in Jesus’ name.
