Life Treatment: GUILT (Episode 18): Learning How To Fall Forward!

Welcome to another episode on Life Treatment, I am Lara Gboyega Adedeji. On Life Treatment, we treat life issues using the Scriptures to bring solutions and treatment to the life issues that we all face in our life journey.

Today, we will be looking at another issue that many of us have come across at one point or the other in our life journey, and today we are looking at guilt. What does guilt mean? And how does it affect us in our life journey? Guilt is the fact of haven committed, a specified or implied offence or crime. Guilt happens when you have committed a specified or implied offence or crime. What that means is that, there is something that you have done, consciously or unconsciously that has come across as an offense or a crime to a person, a group of people or to a constituted authority.

Now when you have guilt, it’s the fact that you have admitted that you committed that offense and you have committed that crime. When you feel guilt at any point in your life, you need God. The treatment for guilt is God. And we are going to look at a Scripture that makes us to understand this and break it down very easily for us to be able to comprehend.

Isaiah 1:18, God said; “come now and let us reason together”, you have committed an offense you have committed a crime, come now and let us reason together, “says the Lord. Though your sins are like scarlet they shall be as white as snow, though they are red like crimson, they shall be as wool.”

What is God saying to you here? When you feel guilt that you have committed an offense or a crime and you have sinned, come to God and let you and God sit on a table, and have a conversation about it. Because when you feel guilt, the easy way to get out of it is for you to confess that guilt. You confess it to God; you speak to God about it. That’s why God said; “come now and let us reason together” why did you do it? What really happened? When you let out that guilt off your chest and you confess it to God, He said in that Isaiah 1:18; “though your sins are like scarlet” they are so deep, they are so bloody, “they shall be as white as snow”  when you come to God.

Your sin doesn’t turn round, your guilt doesn’t leave you, until you accept to come to God. So, you sit down with God and allow God to come into your heart, and you have a conversation with God about that offense, about that crime, about that sin and God would let you know that you can come out of it. He will let you know that haven confessed those offenses, and that crime and that sin to Him, He is able to forgive you and when He forgives you, there would be a transition from having that guilt that is like scarlet to having a conscience that is as white as snow.

Though your sin, your offense, your crime can be as red like crimson, they shall be as wool. This transition will not happen until you come to God. So, for guilt you need God, the treatment for your guilt is God, you can confess it to a man, you can confess it to your best friend, you can confess it to your husband or your wife; if you have not gone to God, that transition will not take place for you. and that is why it is important every time we feel guilt and remember guilt is that feeling, it is that point where you are that you know that you committed a specified, or implied offense or crime. And when you come to that point you need to confess it to God, you need to take it to God, you need to come to God and reason together, confess it to God, let God know how sorry you are.

Let Him know that you will never do it again. Let him know that this that has happened to you, you need His mercy for it and you would realize that there would be a transition taking place in your heart, from being in a scarlet state, to being as white as wool, and from being as red as crimson to being as white as wool. I believe that you have been able to glean wisdom from that and you have been able to see that for your guilt you need God.

Thank you for the investment of your time on this episode of Life Treatment. God bless you.
