Life is truly beyond any human comprehension or limitation; for life proceeds from God and is sustained by God. Eventually, we will all discover that everything dances to the tone of God's plan and God's will. Many people around us claim to be in charge of the daily dealings; but I have found that even the devil that many people believe to be rebellious and evil, can do nothing outside God's will and God's word. I have discovered that God is always in charge of everything both on earth and in the heavens. He commands everything we all see daily and we will see in the future.
In a particular chapter of the book of Isaiah, God said that "I am the LORD, and there is no other; I form the light and create darkness, I make peace and create calamity; I, the LORD, do all these things." (Isaiah 45:7). I therefore occurred to me that my LORD is never caught unawares on any matter. He created and creates everything by the word of His power. Do you know about Cyrus the king? He was not a believer or worshipper of God; yet, at the due time, he discovered and fulfilled the purpose of God for his living. God even used Pharaoh to fulfill His will, even though Pharaoh never knew nor worship Him. He chose Pharaoh as a vessel of His wrath, through whom He showed the generations of men His power and His authority on earth.
Pharaoh thought he was just ruthless and difficult against the children of Israel; but in reality, he was simply fulfilling God's plan. The Scriptures say, "If they had known, they would not have crucified the King of glory". When the
devil was working very passionately towards terminating the life of Jesus on earth; he never knew that he was also working for God. He only thought he was being evil!
Then Jesus was led up by the Spirit into the wilderness to be tempted by the devil….. (Matthew 4:1). Did you see that? God took Jesus to a place where the devil was ready to tempt Him. If you follow that Scripture further, you would realize that Jesus remained bold, strong and confident throughout the process because He knew His tempter and He knew who was in charge – God!
Again, the devil took Him up to an exceedingly high mountain, and showed Him all the kingdoms of the world and their glory. And he said to Him, "All these things I will give You if you will fall down and worship me." Then Jesus said to him, "Away with you, Satan! For it is written, 'You shall worship the LORD your God, and Him only you shall serve.' (Matthew 4:8-10).
Victory over satan does not fall down on anyone like a ripe mango fruit; it is however available for everyone that knows his or her tempter, and the one in charge. Do you know that the fact that Jesus was brought to the devil for His temptation (examination), does not make the devil superior to Him? Jesus knew that He had authority over satan; hence He said, 'Away with you satan!'.
Dominion in life will always be preceded by moments of examination in life; and in each phase, the devil is the one that has position himself for such task. When your own moment comes, do not start saying that God, how do you expect me to pass this test? Is it fair that you are making me to see or hear these things? Instead, arise to the challenge and challenge your challenger! The devil is your challenger, each time he comes to tempt you, his joy is to see you fall just as he fell; but your stance against him must be that of understanding of your authority and power over him.
Dominion is real! Dominion is possible! Dominion is for you and I on this earth!
