For many people across the world, the thirst or crave for glory is a never ending venture or adventure. We do everything within our conceivable power to achieve or attain glory. In fact, we are so much in NEED of and CHASE for glory that we often settle with the quote, "The END justifies the MEANS". We simply are determined to do whatever we could to attain what we or others could call glory.
While a few individuals across the nations have reached what they call glory, quite a large number of their fans, followers or people have only succeeded in destroying themselves in the pursuit of glory. If I may share a small example of these empty pursuits with us: Do you remember the young footballer called Neymar? Of course you do! He was considered to be the heir of Lionel Messi while playing for FC Barcelona in Spain. For some years he was the third best footballer in the world behind Christiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi; however, in a strong CRAVE to become world best footballer, he opted out of FC Barcelona to PSG in a world record transfer deal.
But since his departure in pursuit of glory, his stock has been falling. In the last ceremony for the best footballers in the world, his name wasn't in top 10 for about 2/3 years rolling. The point is, while a few people in the pursuits of GLORY have attained some glory; the greatest chunk of others across generations and nations have only ended up destroying their souls and even bodies.
But does God have a way out for everyone of us who wants glory God's way? Yes! Please read the Bible verses below carefully:
12 Therefore, since we have such hope, we use great boldness of speech— 13 unlike Moses, who put a VEIL over his FACE so that the children of Israel could not look steadily at the end of what was passing away. 14 But their MINDS were BLINDED. For until this day the SAME VEIL remains unlifted in the reading of the Old Testament, because the veil is TAKEN AWAY in CHRIST. 15 But even to this day, when Moses is read, a veil lies on their heart. 16 Nevertheless when one TURNS to the LORD, the VEIL is TAKEN away. 17 Now the Lord is the Spirit; and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty. 18 But we all, with UNVEILED FACE, beholding as in a mirror the glory of the Lord, ARE BEING TRANSFORMED INTO THE SAME IMAGE FROM GLORY to GLORY, just as [b]BY the SPIRIT of the LORD.
2 Corinthians 3:12-18 (NKJV)
From that Scripture, it is clear that the lack of progress or growth of many people who are seeking personal or corporate glory is the VEIL that is on their faces. Each time they look or are looked at; there is a veil that prevents their VISION, VISIBILITY OR VIABILITY. They love to see or be seen; yet, a veil covers them. No wonder Jesus was speaking to the people who TURNED TO HIM that they are a CITY that is SET ON A HILL, which shall never be hidden or veiled.
That tells us very clearly that until a man or woman fully turn to Christ, not just for a SHORT VIEW (Veiled face); but a permanent VIEW (Unveiled face), his glory will only be daydream, and never a reality.
According to the plan of God, siding with Jesus Christ is what separates any person from the powers of darkness, which work very hard DAILY to obscure anyone's understanding or growth. You read, yet you don't understand; you labour very hard, yet you have little or nothing to show for it; you invest money in "great business ideas", without any visible ROI. The problem isn't you, but the VEIL that Satan put on your face. If you want to experience growth, progress, promotion or increase in every segment of your life; then that VEIL must be removed – and nothing else and no one else can remove VEIL from your face outside Jesus Christ.
Your decision today to TURN to Jesus Christ, will not only REMOVE that your problematic VEIL, but will set your feet on the PATH of glory; where glory will no longer be something to pursue, but a life to live: For beholding Jesus Christ daily is an experience that TRANSFORMS you into the GLORIOUS IMAGE of Christ everywhere. So that whenever people see you, they see Christ in you!
27 For God wanted them to know that the riches and glory of Christ are for you Gentiles, too. And this is the secret: Christ lives in you. This gives you assurance of sharing his glory.
Colossians 1:27 (NLT)
