I am sure there are questions in the heart of many of us; some of us have wondered at the way God has been dealing with us over the past few weeks, months and years. In fact, at best, we have been amused by the manner of our living and the dimension of our life direction. I have been meditating on these issue for some time now; but the Lord is gracious to us to show us how His raises His own change agents.
Now after Jesus was born in Bethlehem of Judea in the days of Herod the king, behold, wise men from the East came to Jerusalem, saying, "Where is He who was born King of the Jews? For we have seen His star in the East and have come to worship Him.
Matthew 2:1-2
I believe that this article is not for all men, but for the chosen people. If you are therefore chosen by God for some important works on the earth, you will need to pay rapt attention to the words of this writing.
The wise men saw the star of Jesus rising from the East, and they, been moved in awe, came to worship Him in the beauty of His glory. But something happened, when they came to Jerusalem, there first call was the palace of the incumbent king – Herod! I believe that the wise men just felt that for a man to be born a king, he needed to be born in the palace. They felt, for a man to be born to rule a nation, start a great business empire, invent great things, establish great and sustainable systems and the likes, such a person needed to belong to the aristocrats, the politicians, Generals of faith and the Rockefellers of the day. The point is, they believed that only the existing structure is right to produce men to run the structure.
These wise men saw the star of Jesus from afar, and that tells me that each one of us that God has chosen for some works in His name has his or her own star. The star of Jesus became a guide to the wise men, directing them to the chosen place for the birth or emergence of Jesus. The most important factor in how God raise His men is not the elegance of the location of their making or emergence or the degree of their connections with the existing order or structures, but His directions. The most important thing is divine direction: For the same God who directed the parents of Jesus to the manger, also directed the wise men to the manger.
If I may ask, what would have happened to the provisions of the LORD for Jesus if His parents had been misguided by sentiments and anger. They opted for the will of God, and stayed there. Do you know that when the king asked for the death of all children under 3 years of age, Jesus was preserved? Who would have thought that a person is born in the manger, where animals lives? Indeed, our God is the Chief Strategist; although His instructions may sound "absurd" to man sometimes, they are the wisest decisions ever.
While you trust God to make your life reflect the prophecies that have gone out before you, you must yield to His commands, you must follow His leadership always. If you understand God's provision for men like Abraham, Elijah, Joseph and John among others; you would realize the indispensability of divine instructions in their making. If God cannot guide you, then He cannot make you. If God cannot make you, then He cannot use you! Please, keep those words in your heart for the rest of your journey on the earth.
May the Lord keep you till the end in His truth and love. Amen!
